What is phone scam?

Phone scams happen when a customer gets a call claiming to be from the bank, asking you to verify a suspicious credit card transaction such as online purchase that were supposedly charged to your account. The scammer will trick you into giving them personal details and once they have the information, they can steal money or commit identity theft.

What would you do if you received a scam call?

  • Do not reveal your personal details
  •  Simply hang up to prevent the scammer from manipulating or confusing you.
  • If you’ve accidentally shared personal information with a scammer, immediately contact the National Scam Response Centre (NSRC) at 997 (available daily from 8am to 8pm) or the Bank Islam Fraud Hotline at 03-2690 0900. Provide all relevant details to help secure your accounts and prevent further misuse of your information.
