How to login to BIMB Mobile on a new device

A step-by-step guide

In today’s digital world, keeping your online banking account secure is more important than ever. One of the key security features banks use is device binding. This means your account can only be accessed from one device at a time. If you try to log in from a new device, you’ll need to approve it from your previous device, making sure only you can authorise access to your account on a different device.

Step 1
Install BIMB Mobile on your new device

Download BIMB Mobile from the official app store – either Google Play Store for Android or Apple App Store for iOS.

Step 2
Log in with your details

Once the app is installed, open it and enter your username and password to start the login process

Step 3
Approve access from your previous device

To confirm it’s you, BIMB Mobile will send a prompt to your old device. Approve the device change from your previous device.

If you don’t have access to your previous device, you can approve the login through BIMB Web. See Step 4 for details.

Step 4
Request to approve from BIMB Web

Skip this step if you already approved from previous device.

If your previous device isn’t available, click on “Try other way,”.  Tap on “Approve using BIMB Web” on the next screen.

Step 5
Approve access from BIMB Web

Skip this step if you already approved from previous device.

Next, log in to BIMB Web, you’ll see a request to confirm the login on your new device. Approve the request.

Step 6
Complete the login

Once you approve the login from your old device or BIMB Web, the new device will be fully linked to your account.

Why Is device binding important?

Device binding helps safeguard your internet banking by preventing unauthorized access, especially in cases of phishing, data breaches, or if your login credentials are compromised. Here are the key benefits:

  1. Enhanced security: Even if someone has your username and password, they won’t be able to access your banking account without passing the device binding verification process.
  2. Protection against fraud: It reduces the risk of fraudulent activity by ensuring that only trusted devices can access your account.
  3. Peace of mind: You can feel more confident knowing that your account is protected with an extra layer of security that controls which devices can log in.

What if you can’t complete the binding process?

If you experience issues during the device binding process, follow these steps:

  1. Contact customer support: If you don’t receive the approval prompt or can’t bind the device, reach out to our customer service. We can assist you in troubleshooting the issue or manually verifying your device.
  2. Ensure you’re using a trusted Device: Avoid using public or shared devices to log into your internet banking account. Always use your personal smartphone or tablet for added security.
